What is Pasta?+
Pasta is a clipboard manager for Mac. It saves everything you copy (text, links, images, files and code) so you can find and paste any of it later. Press ⌘⇧V in any app to open your history.
How do I see my clipboard history on a Mac?+
macOS only remembers the last thing you copied. With Pasta, press ⌘⇧V to see everything you've copied, use the arrow keys to pick an item, and press Enter to paste it.
Is Pasta safe for passwords and API keys?+
Yes. Pasta spots passwords, API keys and tokens on your Mac and locks them there. They're never sent for labeling and never synced. Copies from 1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass and KeePassXC aren't captured at all.
Is my clipboard history encrypted?+
Yes. Everything that syncs is encrypted with your own key before it's stored, and that key is protected by Google Cloud KMS. Our database only holds encrypted data, and we never store or log what you copy in readable form.
Does Pasta sync between Macs?+
Yes. Sign in on each Mac and your clipboard history follows you, encrypted. Screenshots are kept in the cloud with a small preview on each Mac, so your disk doesn't fill up.
What are smart cards?+
Every copy becomes a card labeled by what it is, from a git command or a tracking number to a Figma link or a stack trace. Link cards show the page title and preview. You can search by those labels or just describe what you're looking for.
How is Pasta different from the clipboard history in Spotlight?+
On macOS 26 and later, Spotlight keeps recent copies (⌘Space, then ⌘4) for 30 minutes to 7 days, on one Mac. Pasta keeps your whole history, opens with ⌘⇧V where you're typing, labels every copy, searches by meaning, syncs across your Macs encrypted, and keeps passwords off the list.
